RetroComedy: Creepy Vintage Ads

This is very strange. RetroComedy has assembled their catalog of the 15 creepiest ads of all time. I'm thinking they've done a good job.

My faves are 15, 14, 6, 2, and 1. You have to click on the #6 ad and read the text and see what they're really pitching. I vaguely remember ads along these lines for Lysol in the past, but the reality is so much creepier.

(Thanks to Herb for pointing this out to me.)

Damnit, where's my flying car? Where are the robot servants?

My old friend and general mensch-about-town Ken sent me a great website: Retropolis Transit Authority, a look into the future that never was. As Ken said, "Space cadets, mad geniuses, rocketeers, space pirates, old-fashioned death rays, streamlined blimps, and personal jet packs--everything you could desire in yesterday's future!"

They sell t-shirts and other merchandise. I'm copying one example to show you what it's like, but there are dozens of other things that I want you to see, so go look at the site and possibly buy something. The artist, Bradley W. Schenck, has done a wonderful job. Go look!
